Our History

The history of Palxil traces back to 1990, when the Paltsoglou brothers, Pantelis and Vasilis, decided to transform their company, which had been selling and installing plumbing and sanitary products since 1984. They shifted their focus to trading and installing kitchen furniture, and by spring 1992, their small-scale workshop, under the name “Paltsoglou Bros & Co.,” specialized in independent furniture manufacturing.

The Beginning

The company’s new products were sold both wholesale and retail. The Paltsoglou brothers evolved, converting their two stores in Neapoli, Kozani, into showrooms and offering furniture design services through specialized software. As demand steadily grew, the business expanded to employ 12 staff members.

In 1993, the company adopted its current name, “PALXIL,” and doubled the size of its workshop. By 1996, the company built and moved into its new factory at the 5th km of the Neapoli–Kozani National Road, tripling its production space to 1,000 sq.m. The facility was equipped with cutting-edge machinery and suitable infrastructure for mass furniture production.

Development

Due to high demand, PALXIL discontinued wholesale operations and focused exclusively on retail, emphasizing direct customer service. In 2000, a new 150 sq.m. showroom was opened in downtown Kozani, followed by a 200 sq.m. showroom in Neapoli in 2002. Over the years, the company achieved robust profitability, expanded its workforce to 22 employees, and rebranded its logo to “PALXIL Greek Furniture,” emphasizing the domestic origin of its products. In 2004, PALXIL further modernized its production line by leveraging a significant investment through a developmental program.

Commitment to the Environment

In 2007, PALXIL launched its sustainability initiatives. In addition to expanding its factory’s storage facilities, the company implemented a Comprehensive Waste Management System. Sawdust and wood waste are collected and converted into biomass fuel to heat its facilities during winter. The company’s ecologically friendly efforts didn’t stop there.

In 2008, PALXIL received approval to invest in Renewable Energy Sources (RES). A 100 kW photovoltaic park, one of the first licensed and completed in Greece, was installed around its facilities, ensuring maximum profitability from energy generation, to this day.

Continuity

Despite the severe economic challenges in Greece, in 2010, “PALXIL Greek Furniture” opened a new 1,000 sq.m. showroom at 37 Philippou V in Kozani. In 2021, the company rebranded its logo and name to Palxil. The following year, in 2022, Palxil opened a new showroom in Thessaloniki and upgraded its website, marking a new era of growth and modernization.
